Learning in the Olympics 2013 is the 6th annual nursing conference sponsored by the West Sound Advanced Practice Association and Harrison Medical Center. This symposium was created with the goal of providing a quality educational experience for nurses living and working on the Kitsap Peninsula. Since its inception, the scope of the conference has been extended to meet the needs of nurses in the greater Seattle area and beyond. The symposium brings together speakers who value quality patient care and have a desire to foster the professional development of nurses and advanced practice providers.

We recognize that nursing care and the specialty areas of nursing are undergoing changes in the management of diseases. It is imperative for nurses to maintain a current understanding of disease management and nursing implications. This program will include a variety of educational topics to enhance the nurse’s ability to provide patient care across the spectrum of health and illness. This event strives to cultivate a sense of community and provide networking opportunities among all levels of healthcare providers.
